Debt Elimination — Done Differently
In my last post, I introduced Baytown Life & Retirement Solutions and shared why I started this local firm.
Today, I want to focus on one of the most powerful tools we use for families: debt elimination.
Most of you have probably heard of the Debt Snowball, made popular by Dave Ramsey. It’s a good concept for organizing debt and building momentum.
But what we offer is what I like to call the Debt Snowball on Steroids.
We show families how they can eliminate ALL of their debt — including their mortgage — in about 7 years, often without changing their lifestyle.
Here’s the key difference from traditional debt strategies:
With a normal debt snowball, you become debt-free — but you often have little to no savings left.
With our approach, you eliminate your debt while simultaneously building a strong, accessible cash account. That means when you’re debt-free, you’re also sitting on real, usable cash.
Even better — this can typically be done without spending more money than you’re already spending today. We simply help you redirect your existing dollars in a smarter, more efficient way.
If this sounds intriguing, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to walk you through how this works and see if it makes sense for you and your family.

Baytown’s Planned ExxonMobil Events Center Gets Closer to Reality
Baytown officials are moving forward on plans for the ExxonMobil Baytown Events Center, a new multi-purpose entertainment and sports facility slated for the intersection of Decker Drive and Market Street in the heart of Baytown, Texas. The City Council has approved an architecture firm to begin the design phase, signaling progress on a project that aims to bring concerts, youth and adult sports tournaments, expos, community events, and more to the city — eliminating the need for many residents to drive into Houston for big-ticket events. The venue is expected to span roughly 150,000 to 200,000 square feet, with a championship court, seating for thousands, and meeting space, and could attract more than 200,000 annual visitors, boosting local businesses and economic growth.
The project is still in early planning stages, and a comprehensive master plan is being developed by the city, which has already begun preparing the site — including the purchase of nearby properties such as the former Central Church of Christ building at 1004 Market Street to make room for the new center. While construction has not yet begun, the city’s official planning updates indicate steady movement toward bringing this community-focused hub to life, supported in part by ExxonMobil’s economic development contribution.

🚧 Road Work Coming to West Main Street Next Week
The City of Baytown’s Public Works Department will begin a pavement preservation project on West Main Street starting Tuesday. Milling work will take place between Lee Drive and South Main Street, with the first phase expected to last about one week, weather permitting.
City officials clarified that this work is separate from the North Main Street Pavement Preservation project and is part of the city’s broader mill-and-overlay program.
Drivers should expect delays during construction hours and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Please follow posted signage and instructions from flaggers for everyone’s safety.
