Lord, we lift up our communities of Baytown and Mont Belvieu to You. May Your Spirit move through our neighborhoods, our homes, and our hearts. Bring peace where there is worry, strength where there is struggle, and unity where there is division.

We pray for our local leaders, city officials, first responders, teachers, and business owners. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and a servant’s heart as they make decisions that impact our families and future. Guide them in truth and righteousness.

The City of Mont Belvieu Fire Department is recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month, promoting understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Fire Chief Brent Hahn emphasized the city’s commitment to making every resident feel valued and included. As part of the initiative, firefighters are wearing blue throughout April and helping raise awareness about Carter Kits Sensory Bags—special kits designed to comfort children with autism during emergency situations.

These kits include items like noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, and weighted blankets to help reduce stress during interactions with first responders. The department currently has multiple kits deployed across ambulances and vehicles, and all personnel have completed training to better assist individuals with autism.
